Two Morons

Say what you will about the Jaguars QBs but they've all been pretty good guys. Brunell was a saint, Leftwich was a nerd, and Garrard seems to be a well grounded guy. The Cardinals are in a lot of trouble with Matt Leinart. For a top 10 pick he doesn't appear to be too responsible. The Cardinals are banking their future on him and he still thinks it's frat boy time at SC. That's his arm holding up a beer bong for some underage young lady. The Cardinals are paying him a lot of money to party and make cute ESPN commercials. Think Belichick or Parcells would put up with this crap from their QB? However, partying with Leinart would be quite fun.

Clemsondummy

I've always wondered why stud recruits from Florida go to Clemson. You've got FSU, UF, and Miami going after Jamie Harper and he chooses Clemson? Some average program that has a fan base who makes an annual trek to Atlanta or Nashville for the Peach Bowl or Music City Bowl. It was C.J. Spiller making the bizarre choice of Clemson over FSU and UF two years ago. Well maybe offensive line recruit Ken Page has the answer? The four star recruit picked the Tigers over schools like Tennessee and Notre Dame. Ken you might want to keep that money out of site.

Gary Thorne Doesn't Know Baseball

Somehow he doesn't know the difference between Jason Giambi and Jose Canseco. He thinks Canseco plays for the Yankees and that he plays first base. He's been calling baseball games at ESPN for over 10 years. I actually felt sorry for Steve Phillips here. If he slipped up one time I could deal with it, but 3 times shows that he has no idea what he's talking about. This video is courtesy of awfulannouncing.com, one of the best sports sites around. You'll notice I reference this site quite a bit.

The show has been kicked off.

The first day is in the books for the JC Sports Show and I appreciate everyone that called in to participate. We talked some NFL draft, previewed baseball, and debated on the tourney. I'm one of the few people who wasn't sad to see Davidson go down. The double digit seeded teams are fun to root for but I'll take great basketball over the feel good story any day. You'll have 9-10 NBA players on the court when Kansas and UNC meet Saturday night.
As for the draft I feel the Jags don't need to trade any first day picks for a 34 year old defensive end. I don't know why fans want to trade away their picks so quick. The Jags have aquired Maurice Jones Drew, Darryl Smith, and Justin Durant in the second round. All three of those guys are studs and will be on this team for at least 5 more years. Would you trade those three for Jason Taylor? At the most you give up one of your 3rds and one of your 5ths. Fans need to worship the draft. You don't build your team around veteran players.
Stay tuned this week as we'll have UF and FSU beat writers on to give their synopsis on spring practice. And as always get on the blog everyday to see the latest funny clips and photos.

JC SPORTS SHOW ON THE WAY

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Read now and get ready to listen up. The JC Sports show begins Monday March 31st. It airs weekdays from 8-10a.m on 1420AM in St. Augustine. You can also listen live on the net and there will be a link up here before the show's debut. Of course the show's main focus is on sports but we'll touch on pop culture as well.
Here’s some information about your host. My name is John Clements and I am a 30 year old Florida Grad. I’ve worked in sports media for over 10 years but this is my first radio show. Working in sports can suck because you work under some true idiots. People who don’t know a damn thing except the right people. This industry does not reward knowledge and the people running it don’t know sports. The only solution was to say the hell with it and do my own show.
I hosted shows sparingly in Gainesville so I’m not a novice. I get carried away on rants and have been known to almost come to blows in bars all in the name of some meaningless sports argument. I come across as bitter at times but it’s just the way I argue. Talking sports is always fun. I’m a beer drinker and a tailgater. You won’t find me in the media box. There’s nothing enjoyable about watching football in silence while you down hotdogs with fat writers covered in mustard stains. I watch a ridiculous amount of television and it’s almost always on something sports related. I watch ESPN a lot but I’ve grown to detest it over the last few years. You’ll hear me rant about some of the hosts and personalities I can’t stand, but this isn’t the time for that. The JC Sports show is neutral and no bias will be given to any school, team, player, or coach. If you think I’m being a homer then call in and tell me I’m a jackass. JC Sports will focus on debunking dumb opinions and will stereotype everyone.
Here's what you can expect when the show debuts. There will be plenty of appealing and fun interviews. I am sick and tired of listening to local shows who interview guests just for the sake of doing it. Honestly, who cares about listening to the play by play announcer of a school who is 1,000 miles away? And who's tired of canned jock sniffing questions? JC Sports will not bore you with rhetorical predictable questions. We are well aware that X player is preparing for the season everyday, he’s excited, and will approach the season one game at a time. How many times have you heard that crap? My goal is to learn personal information about our local athletes (Jags, Gators, Noles, local coaches, local coaches and legends). I'll spare you the name dropping, brown nosing, and patronizing laughs. Who cares that the host knows Y amount of players on the Jaguars and this athlete really is one of his favorites?
The show's production will not have the bells and whistles you hear at some of the other stations. But the intent is not to impress you with zany sounds and letting you know how wonderful my studio is. The content of The JC Sports Show is top priority. You won’t hear the same show everyday. The format will change frequently and you will be top priority. You’ll never be told to hurry up because the Royals second baseman is on the line waiting to be interviewed. If I feel you’re clueless I'll still listen to your nonsense. There is nothing more annoying than a host hanging up on callers and declaring himself the victor of the argument. If you are looking for a change from the same old canned garbage this is your show. Prepare to have fun, talk sports, and discuss any other mindless topic.

F.Y.I…I’ll chime in here on a weekly basis to spout off about whatever the hell is bothering me.
